What a fantastic weekend of cycling. The Rugby Ground was open from Friday and there was still quite a few left on the Monday still. The Road Sportif followed the same route as last year with plenty big hills and some fantastic descending on the Saturday. The MTB Marathon followed on the Sunday with over 1200 riders taking on the 4 courses. Great weekend of weather but poured down late on the Sunday night so ended up in the bar talking to Nick Craig who was on his holidays with his family and had been crusing around the 7 Staines. Oh and he was first in the 100K and his oldest son got 4th on the 28K. Well done to all the NE riders both on the Sat & Sun. John and his merry crew set up a great weekend of cycling, bring on next year

ENDRUO EVENTS
at Kilnsey, a small village just outside Grassington with a pub less than 5mins walk away! There was 4 different routes on offer all starting at 10.00am and heading off up the first hill of the day, followed by a short downhill then up another bigish climb over the moors. The descent from that down the road again was fantastic and very quick, alittle too quick for some ! from their riders split up depending upon what distance they were doing. The event was very well marshalled & sign posted, T shirt isnt too bad either! not to mention the goodie bags!
As for the weather what a weekend of two halfs with the Saturday hot & sunny with a strongish wind upto early evening then on the Sunday dry to start with a gentle breeze but come dinnertime it was pouring down and you could hardly stand up.
Yes John and his crew are heading for the hills of Yorkshire this year over the weekend of 3rd – 4thJuly. It is the same guys who organise the fantastic event at Selkirk and many down in Wales. It was always extremely well organised and a fantastic weekend away. There are four routes on the Sunday and you get a free goodie bag inc T shirt. All the info can be found here –
What a weekend of two halfs. On the Saturday you could just about stand up for the wind blowing across the race course and heavy showers but come Sunday it was red hot and no wind. What a fantastic weekend of Cycling for all ages & abilities- organised rides for all abilities, evening pub rides, band, auctions, sales, trade stands, grass track racing, cyclo x racing, kids racing, skills, stunt demo’s, old bikes, bo clown (he was the best!) and the Minster Parade – which was a much better route and alot more organised than previous years. All in all a great weekend, some photos here to show you some of the action
Thousands of Cyclists will descend on York Racecourse from Fri pm 18th June for a full weekend of activities. The Rally has been going for many years and there is a full programme of events over the weekend inc the Trade Stands for a bargain. Great day/weekend out for everyone inc plenty of kids activities and racing.
What a weekend of Cycling in the NE. First up was the Crit racing at Leazes Park on Fri night. It stayed dry and was great evening. To start the evening was the two kids races which were running late so had to cut them short but there was still some fantastic battles going on between riders. Next up was the local adults with nearly 70 starting and by a couple of laps the lapped riders were getting pulled out and there was also plenty retirements but again there was a fantastic sprint finish. After that was the Elite’s, they were just too fast ! There seemed to be a lot less spectatrors this year ! photos here –
On the Sunday it was the Cycle North East Festival at South Shields. It was a great set up and well organised but the weather was terrible and the event was not advertised but hope it grows in future years . Some photos are here –
