Rd 2 Darlo 2010 002Yes so much for the dry day that was forecast, it was continuous rain for start to finish for all three races. Hats off to everyone who turned up and competed today, massive turn out for the main race- 72 brave riders & 94 riders in total on the day. In all the 9 years of Darlington that has to the wettest of them all. The course still held up well under the top few inches of mud but was hard going for the slower lads out there. The fast lads were flying around the big circuit in the grounds of Branksome School. The Sponsor for the round http://www.aristocratleisure.co.uk/  paid for all the Kids and Adults prizes, check them out and a Big Thank You. Also a big thank you to Ian,Tony, Richy & Andy inc all the helpers/marshalls from Ferryhill Wheelers & VC167. The Race Report, Results & some Photos are in the NEWS Section .

Steaming like the Locomotion @ Darlo today

Darlo 003WINTER SERIES  Rd 2 @ Darlington 3rd Oct – full details in the EVENT INFO Section, it is always a very popular event in the NE and always attracts a fantastic field of riders because of the reputation the event has built up over the many years. Ian has been test riding the venue and the feedback is good. If you have not ridden Darlo before it is alot flatter than Rd 1 but still has plenty challenges inc some lovely singletrack through the wooded sections near to the stream. Its always a great family day out so bring evryone along to watch and play.  The event is also sponsored by www.aristocratleisure.co.uk  so click on the link & treat yourself to some proper mans toys ! The Race Report, Photos & Results will be posted after the event.

UPDATE – Ian has set the course for today and has added couple of new sections in. Ground conditions are good with a few sticky sections in the wooded areas. Remeber NO MUDDY SHOES INSIDE THE BUILDING and DO NOT CLEAN BIKES OFF IN THE CARPARK PLEASE. Forecast is looking cooler now, dry – max 13 degress and we will hopefully be finished before the light rain is forecast later in the afternoon 🙂
