**COURSE UPDATE **- Hetton is looking good and the recent dry weather and wind has dried the course off lovely, couse is running fast and the forecast is looking dry & cool, perfect for a Enduro. Course will have a great mix of varied terrain, it is approx 2.5 miles in length and there will be events for all ages and abilities. Entry will be on the day and is the best value for money racing in the Region. There will be free cake & refreshments after the main race and there is a box full of spot prizes. For the Kids there is also loads of goodies as well. Course details are now published, the venue inspection / course setting ride has been 
done. All the details can be found by clicking on the SUPER ENDURO page tab above. Ideal pre 3 Peaks training for those who have been accepted ! Heat stroke at Thorns
First round of the Winter Series was certainly a hot’un and there was a great turnout for the main race of approx 64 riders- total riders on the day approx 79 which was not bad considering the clash with Durham Big Ride, Nutcracker & Northallerton Yorkshire CX. The course was a real tester for the first Winter one with some good climbing and some super fast downhills. The best part the kids enjoyed was the jumps on the BMX circuit – great fun. RD 1 Whickham Thorns, Gateshead. 12th Sept
The Winter Series 10/11 starts this Sunday 12th Sept @ Whickham Thorns, Dunston – full info inc directions, times, fees, facilities etc are in the EVENT INFO section, cannot wait. There will be no thick ice this year 🙂 the venue grounds are in very good condition and the forecast is looking fine, 18 degrees so its going to be a hot & sweaty one. Please arrive in plenty time to get signed on and sorted out. Remember to hand your number back in and the Presentations will follow after each race.

RD 1 was a belter, bring on RD 2
Well thats Round 1 complete and what a turn out to a start of the season with 56 riders taking on the challenge. The results, race report & photos are posted in the News Section. There was a great mix of riders from the Elite- Mr Wearmouth stomping around in 5min laps to the new comers to the sport getting a taste of what its all about. Rd 2 is @ Hetton on Wednesday 25th August. The course will be run in the opposite direction and a few new section will be added as well, directions etc are in the EVENT INFO section, click on Autumn tab for a flyer to download or print off .
MTB Racing this Saturday (24th July) in the Park
Barnesbury CC are organising an offroad afternoon @ Gallagher Park, Bedlington (behind the Police Stattion) NE22 7EA. First is the under 12’s individual time trial, less than 5 minutes – 1.15pm, then its the under 12’s cross country race 1.30pm – 10 to 15 minutes. Entry for under 12’s is only £1
Then it is the 12 to 16 year old individual TT 1.55pm, followed
by the 12-16 massed start cross country event 20- 25 minutes – 2.15 pm. Entry for 12-16 is only £3. Need parental consent and a helmet.
The senior event is run under the rules of the TLI 3pm. 45 minutes plus one lap. Very simple affair on a small circuit around 1.2km in lenghth(est.), cost is £5 TLI member, £7 non member.
Both events are entry on the line only.
TLI event ideal for novices on a not very technically demanding course.
Should be a canny afternoon of biking for the family.
MTB Marathon Series Hits Yorkshire
Yes John and his crew are heading for the hills of Yorkshire this year over the weekend of 3rd – 4thJuly. It is the same guys who organise the fantastic event at Selkirk and many down in Wales. It was always extremely well organised and a fantastic weekend away. There are four routes on the Sunday and you get a free goodie bag inc T shirt. York Cycle Show
Thousands of Cyclists will descend on York Racecourse from Fri pm 18th June for a full weekend of activities. The Rally has been going for many years and there is a full programme of events over the weekend inc the Trade Stands for a bargain. Great day/weekend out for everyone inc plenty of kids activities and racing.
