N of E Champs – Sun 5th Dec 2011 Brockhole, Lake District. Scot has just come home early from the Lakes & took over 3hrs from Penrith to Co Durham! and was minus 16 when he left. A66 is closed in both directions, Alston/ Hartside route is closed, Kirkstone Pass road is closed and the A69 is openish but and the ave speed is approx 30mph if you are very lucky, forecast to snow in the Lakes for the next 48 hrs as well and they are expecting 8-10″ on top of a covering already so if you are going please be fully prepared.
